LAS VEGAS–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Autodesk University – Autodesk, Inc. (NASDAQ:ADSK) has launched a new IoT platform called Autodesk SeeControl, designed to help companies collect, analyze, and leverage data from remote products. Acquired in 2015, SeeControl is now being expanded to give manufacturers the tools they need to improve existing products and develop new, innovative services for their customers.

“The manufacturing industry is evolving rapidly, and customer expectations for connected services are rising,” said Brian Roepke, Senior Director of Product Lifecycle Management and Internet of Things at Autodesk. “With SeeControl, we’re helping businesses gain a competitive edge by optimizing their products and unlocking insights that lead to better service offerings.”

The Internet of Things (IoT) refers to the network of physical devices embedded with sensors, software, and connectivity, enabling them to exchange data. When these devices are sold to end users, manufacturers can gather real-time usage data, gaining valuable insights into how products are performing. This helps companies respond more effectively to market demands and individual user needs, while also improving product design over time.

For years, Autodesk has supported manufacturers through its cloud-based platforms like Fusion 360 and PLM 360. Now, with the integration of SeeControl, the company is enhancing its Product Innovation Platform with advanced analytics that enable smarter monitoring and more predictive maintenance—giving businesses a stronger edge in the market.

Autodesk SeeControl empowers manufacturers to track real-world performance, use live data to refine future designs, and ensure optimal product operation. It allows for early detection of potential issues, scheduling of maintenance during low-impact times, and delivering enhanced customer service based on actual usage patterns.

    What sets SeeControl apart includes:

    • A true multi-tenant cloud solution, allowing quick deployment and easy scalability.
    • Compatibility with any device and communication protocol, offering flexibility without vendor lock-in.
    • User-friendly interface with no-coding tools for device setup, data analysis, and visualization.

“Since acquiring SeeControl, we’ve worked hard to integrate it with our core services like 3D visualization,” said Roepke. “By bringing live data from SeeControl into our engineering tools, we're not only improving future designs but also empowering our customers in ways that were previously impossible.”

David Keeley, Engineering Manager at TSM Control Systems, shared his experience: “We were impressed with how quickly we could connect to SeeControl and start using real-time data from one of our products. The value we've seen so far is already significant, and we’re excited about what’s ahead.”
