Whether you're working with sheet metal design, 3D visualization, data management, or manufacturing, there are countless applications available to enhance and extend the power of Autodesk software. But how do you know which apps will truly deliver real value and performance?

This is where the new Autodesk Certified Apps program makes a difference. Designed to help users identify high-quality, reliable tools, the program highlights applications from trusted Autodesk partners that have been thoroughly tested for compatibility, integration, and performance with Autodesk products.

The program officially launched this month, initially focusing on certified apps for Autodesk Inventor and Autodesk Vault. However, this is just the beginning—more products and services from Autodesk may join the program in the future, offering even more options for professionals across industries.

To show how these certified apps can make a real impact, let’s look at two success stories: Fluke Corporation and Elastec/American Marine.

    Fluke

Fluke Corporation, a global leader in electronic test equipment, recently transitioned from their outdated PTC Pro/INTRALINK 3.4 system to Autodesk Vault Professional. Their main challenge was to move their engineering data without disrupting ongoing design and development processes.

By using an Autodesk Certified App called nxMigrator for Pro/INTRALINK from Nexxtsoft, Fluke successfully migrated one server to a replicated global environment, involving 45 seats and 60GB of engineering data. The process saved over $200,000 in maintenance costs and ensured a smooth transition to Autodesk Vault.

“I don’t worry about updates or patches breaking our workflow. We now have a solid data management system that just works,” says Barry Schaeffer, CAD Manager at Fluke.

Elastec/American Marine, a leading manufacturer of oil spill and environmental equipment, is also pushing boundaries. They recently won the X PRIZE for developing one of the most effective oil recovery devices. To stay competitive and respond quickly to customer needs, they rely on flexible and efficient workflows.

The company uses Autodesk Inventor along with an Autodesk Certified App called FAB Professional from Striker Systems. This powerful combination streamlines the transition from 3D part models to 2D sheet metal layouts for CNC production. It helps them create prototypes faster, reduce job times significantly, and improve outsourcing efficiency.
