LAS VEGAS–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Autodesk University – Autodesk, Inc. (NASDAQ:ADSK) has launched a groundbreaking new platform called SeeControl, designed to empower the Internet of Things (IoT). This innovative solution enables customers to collect, analyze, and leverage data from remote products, offering deeper insights and smarter decision-making. Acquired in September 2015, SeeControl is now part of Autodesk’s expanding IoT ecosystem, helping manufacturers enhance their offerings and deliver next-generation services.

“The landscape of product development is evolving rapidly, especially in industries like machinery and specialty vehicles,” said Brian Roepke, Senior Director of Product Lifecycle Management and IoT at Autodesk. “With SeeControl, we’re equipping businesses with tools to optimize their current products and unlock new service opportunities that drive long-term value for their customers.”

The Internet of Things refers to a network of physical devices embedded with sensors, software, and connectivity, allowing them to exchange data over the internet. For manufacturers, this means they can gather real-time usage data from end-user products, gaining valuable insights into how their products are performing. This not only helps in improving customer satisfaction but also allows companies to refine their designs and operations continuously.

For years, Autodesk has supported manufacturers through its cloud-based platforms like Fusion 360 and PLM 360, enabling them to develop and manage connected products. Now, with the introduction of SeeControl, Autodesk enhances its cloud-based Product Innovation Platform with advanced analytics, helping customers achieve more predictive monitoring and greater efficiency in their operations.

SeeControl gives manufacturers the ability to monitor real-world performance of their products and use live data to improve future models. It helps maintain peak performance, detect potential issues before they occur, and schedule maintenance at optimal times. Ultimately, this leads to better service delivery and enhanced customer experiences based on real-world data.

What sets SeeControl apart from other IoT solutions includes:

    • A true multi-tenant cloud architecture, enabling quick deployment and scalability.
    • Compatibility with any device and communication protocol, offering flexibility without vendor lock-in.
    • User-friendly interface with no-code tools for setting up device communication, data analysis, visualization, and business integration.

“Since acquiring SeeControl, we’ve been focused on integrating it with our core services like 3D visualization,” said Roepke. “By bringing live data from SeeControl into our engineering tools, we’re enabling more informed design decisions and opening up new possibilities for our customers.”

Dave Keeley, Engineering Manager at TSM Control Systems, added, “We were impressed by how quickly we could connect to SeeControl and start leveraging real-time data from our products. The ease of use and immediate value it provides have already helped us boost our operational efficiency, and we're excited about what's ahead.”
