The Crete Township Fire Protection District, part of MABAS Division 27, operates out of three stations and boasts a diverse fleet including engines manufactured by Pierce, E-ONE, Luverne, and Alexis. Their ambulances are supplied by Medtec, and they maintain three tankers (tenders). The most recent tanker, completed in 2011, was constructed by Alexis on a Freightliner M2 chassis.
Back in 1995, Crete Township joined several other south suburban fire departments in ordering an engine from Luverne, built on an HME 1871 chassis. Two of these engines featured the largest extended and raised cabs available; one went to Alsip, while the other remains in service with Crete Township, complete with a fully enclosed pump operator panel.

One of the newest additions to their fleet is a 3,000-gallon tender built by Alexis on a Freightliner chassis. A graphic on the porta-tank cover depicts a steamer that was refurbished by Gene Morris of Alexis Fire Equipment.
