Not much going on lately, so when I heard the call for an engine at North Avenue and Route 59, I decided to take a ride. I arrived just in time to see West Chicago Engine 5 making a U-turn to head back in the westbound lanes of North Avenue.

Iâ€™ve been covering local emergencies for years, and itâ€™s always interesting to see how quickly things can escalate. This call wasnâ€™t anything major, but it was still good to get out there and capture the action. The crew was professional, focused, and ready to go. It's always a pleasure to work with them. These photos give a real sense of what happened that day, and Iâ€™m glad I was able to be there to document it.
