New Ambulances in Lake Villa

The Lake Villa Fire District recently welcomed two brand-new ambulances into their fleet. These are Type III units manufactured in 2011 by Osage, mounted on Ford E-450 chassis. According to information provided by Jeff Rudolph, neither of these ambulances have been officially numbered yet, but they are both identical. As far as we can tell, Ambulance 243, the older model from 2005, has been taken out of service. Meanwhile, the previous Ambulance 242 has been renumbered as Ambulance 244, while Ambulance 244 has become Ambulance 245. Unfortunately, it’s unclear what happened to the former Ambulance 241. The two new units will take over the roles of Ambulances 241 and 242. As noted in the report linked here, these new ambulances feature a striking red color scheme. This marks a significant change from the existing fleet, which is painted blue and white and was originally part of the Lake Villa Rescue Squad. This unit is typically stationed at Fire Station 2. The transition to these new ambulances represents a modernization effort for the Lake Villa Fire District, enhancing their capabilities and improving response times for emergency situations. In addition to the new paint job, these ambulances come equipped with state-of-the-art medical equipment and technology, ensuring that paramedics can provide the highest level of care to patients. The district is optimistic about the improvements these vehicles will bring to their operations, and residents can expect faster and more efficient responses in critical situations. This update reflects the ongoing commitment of the Lake Villa Fire District to maintaining a well-equipped and prepared emergency services team, ready to serve the community whenever needed.
