In March 2020, our team at Flyability was all set to hold our very first U.S. user conference in Denver, Colorado. It was meant to celebrate the grand opening of our first U.S. office, but then the pandemic hit, and we had no choice but to cancel. Instead of letting it go to waste, we decided to take the event online. Starting on April 9th, we’re hosting a series of webinars that will continue throughout May.
The original conference schedule included a variety of talks and panel discussions focusing on indoor UAV inspections in different sectors across the U.S., such as chemicals, oil and gas, power generation, and mining. We had over 200 registrations, and some fantastic speakers lined up, including experts from drone industry giants like DJI and Pix4D, as well as representatives from inspection standards organizations like API and ASME.
Even though the physical event didn’t happen, we’re thrilled to share the knowledge and insights with everyone through these webinars. Each session features one of the keynote speakers who were supposed to present at the canceled conference.
Our first webinar is already live! On April 9th at 10:30 AM EST/4:30 PM CEST, join us for "The Future of Drone Inspections," where you’ll hear from Luis Pulgarin, the head of the newly formed UAS committee at ASME, and Suzanne Lemieux, the author of API’s Guide for Innovative Drone Use in the Natural Gas & Oil Industry. Don’t miss out—register now to watch the recording!
On April 14th at 11:30 AM EST/5:30 PM CEST, we’ll dive into “Country-of-Origin Drone Bans and Their Impact on U.S. Companies and Agencies,†featuring Jordan Gross, Senior Government Relations Lead at DJI, and Romeo Durscher, Senior Director of Public Safety Integration at DJI. This session will explore how drone bans affect companies, especially those involved in public safety during the pandemic.
Next up, on April 21st at 10:30 AM EST/4:30 PM CEST, we’ll discuss “3D Modeling with Indoor Drones,†led by Andrew McIntyre, a technical trainer and mapping expert from Pix4D, alongside Marc Gandillon, Head of Marketing at Flyability. They’ll cover applications and implications of 3D modeling using drones.
We’ve also got a session on building scalable drone programs within organizations, featuring Calvin Rieb from Cargill and James Manni from TVA, happening on April 22nd. Another exciting talk on drones in the oil and gas sector, specifically how Chevron leverages drones, is scheduled for April 28th.
As we move forward, keep an eye out for more webinars covering topics like drone usage in mining and chemical industries. We’re constantly adding new events to our calendar, so make sure to check back regularly for updates.
There’s still so much more to come, and we can’t wait to share these valuable insights with you. Stay tuned, and don’t forget to register for each webinar to secure your spot. Let’s stay connected and continue learning together, even if we can’t meet in person just yet!
