In early 2020, the Flyability team was all set to host our very first U.S. user conference in Denver, Colorado. This event was meant to celebrate the grand opening of our inaugural U.S. office. However, due to growing concerns over the pandemic, we had no choice but to cancel the physical gathering. Now, we’re thrilled to announce that we’re shifting gears and taking the conference online! Starting on Thursday, April 9, we’ll kick off a series of webinars that will continue throughout May.
The original conference agenda was packed with insightful discussions and panels centered around indoor UAV inspections in various sectors across the U.S., such as chemicals, oil & gas, power generation, and mining. We had over 200 registrations lined up, along with an impressive lineup of speakers from leading drone companies like DJI and Pix4D, as well as inspection standards organizations like API and ASME, and drone program pioneers from major corporations such as Chevron and Duke Energy.
Regrettably, the pandemic forced us to cancel the in-person event. But here’s the silver lining: we’re bringing the conference straight to your screens through a webinar series featuring the same keynote speakers who were initially scheduled to present.
We’re kicking things off with a webinar on **"The Future of Drone Inspections: Learn How API and ASME Experts Are Working to Expand Drone Inspection Applications."** This session will feature Luis Pulgarin, head of the newly formed UAS committee at ASME, and Suzanne Lemieux, author of API’s *Guide for Innovative Drone Use in Natural Gas & Oil Industry*. Join us on **Thursday, April 9 at 10:30 A.M. EST / 04:30 P.M. CEST**. You can register now to view the recording.
Next up is **"How Country-of-Origin Drone Bans Impact U.S. Companies & Agencies Including Public Safety Agencies Fighting COVID-19,"** hosted by Jordan Gross, Senior Government Relations Lead at DJI, and Romeo Durscher, Senior Director of Public Safety Integration at DJI. This webinar takes place on **Tuesday, April 14 at 11:30 A.M. EST / 05:30 P.M. CEST**. Be sure to register to save your spot!
On **Tuesday, April 21 at 10:30 A.M. EST / 04:30 P.M. CEST**, we’ll delve into **"3D Modeling with Indoor Drones: Applications and Implications"** with Andrew McIntyre, Technical Trainer and mapping expert at Pix4D, and Marc Gandillon, Head of Marketing at Flyability.
We’ve also got a webinar on **"How to Build and Scale a Drone Program at Your Company"** featuring Calvin Rieb, Head of Global Unmanned Systems at Cargill, and James Manni, UAS Program Manager at the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA), scheduled for **Wednesday, April 22 at 10:30 A.M. EST / 04:30 P.M. CEST**.
For those interested in the oil and gas sector, we’ll explore **"Drones in Oil & Gas: How Chevron Uses Drones to Improve Safety, Reduce Downtimes, and Save Money"** with Larry Barnard, UAS Governance at Chevron, and Mauricio Calva, NDT Expert at Chevron. This will take place on **Tuesday, April 28 at 10:30 A.M. EST / 04:30 P.M. CEST**.
We’ll also be looking at **"Indoor 3D Modeling Use Cases: Photogrammetry in Action"** with Laurie McBean, Geospatial Data Specialist at UAS Inc., and Gregory Spirlet, Professional Services Engineer at Flyability, on **Thursday, April 30 at 11:30 A.M. EST / 05:30 P.M. CEST**.
And later in May, we’ll cover **"Drones in Power Generation: How Exelon Clearsight Uses Drones to Improve Safety, Reduce Downtimes, and Save Money"** with Chris Place, Business Development Manager at Exelon Clearsight, and Marc Gandillon, Head of Marketing at Flyability, happening on **Thursday, May 14 at 10:30 A.M. EST / 04:30 P.M. CEST**.
Finally, on **Wednesday, May 20 at 2:00 P.M. EST / 12:00 P.M. MST**, we’ll conclude with **"How to Perform Safer Confined Spaces Inspections Using Drones"** presented by Alexandre Meldem, VP of Sales at Flyability.
We had an amazing lineup of a dozen keynote speakers for our canceled 2020 User Conference, so expect even more exciting webinars to come. Some upcoming topics include:
- **"How Indoor Drones Are Being Used in Mining"**
- **"How Indoor Drones Are Being Used in Chemicals"**
We’ll keep this page updated as we confirm new webinars. Be sure to check back regularly to stay informed about future sessions.
