2019 Sustainability Report: Working With Our Customers and Partners to Achieve Sustainable Outcomes in the Decade Ahead

As I scroll through the latest updates on my screen, it's hard not to notice how rapidly the world is transforming. The dual pressures of climate change and growing inequality are escalating at an alarming pace, reshaping everything from economies to social structures. Just when we thought we were navigating one crisis after another, a global pandemic swept across the globe, bringing industries to a standstill and testing the very fabric of our societal frameworks. Protests and civil unrest have only underscored the deep-seated issues of racial injustice and systemic inequities that persist within our societies. It's becoming increasingly clear that as we step into this new decade, reaffirming our dedication to fostering a sustainable, resilient, and equitable future has never been more crucial. In our annual Sustainability Report, our CEO Andrew Anagnost reflects on this pivotal moment, stating, “The challenges we face—a global pandemic, a warming planet, rising inequality, and political instability—are testing the resilience of businesses, nations, ecosystems, and our global community. While no one foresaw the shutdown of the global economy due to the novel coronavirus, it’s evident that we could—and perhaps should—have been better prepared.” This year’s report takes a reflective look back at over a decade of progress in sustainability and outlines our forward-thinking approach to aiding customers in achieving their own sustainable objectives. ![](http://bsg-i.nbxc.com/blog/fe0b1c496df3a3daec04ed580f756590.jpg) Our journey towards environmental responsibility is far from over. In 2019, we achieved a significant milestone by reaching the science-based greenhouse gas reduction targets we set over a decade ago. Thanks to enhanced operational efficiencies, powering our offices and cloud services entirely with renewable energy, and purchasing Gold Standard carbon offsets for business travel and large-scale events, our carbon footprint has decreased by 43%. Moving forward, we’re committed to making our entire business climate-neutral starting this fiscal year. These efforts position us as trusted partners to our clients, empowering them to meet their sustainability goals. In addition, we've actively engaged with policymakers at the UN Climate Change Conference, COP25, to advocate for bolder climate policies and create an environment conducive to low-carbon innovation. ![](http://bsg-i.nbxc.com/blog/ea0213256d796dd7b47f7c53521bb2c6.jpg) On the frontlines of diversity and inclusion, we're steadfastly working to build a more resilient, diverse, and equitable culture at Autodesk. Recently, our CEO distributed stock grants to every employee, reinforcing their ownership stake in the company. Additionally, we aim to allocate 1% of our operating margin to the Autodesk Foundation, amplifying its mission to support entrepreneurs and innovators driving transformative change in underserved communities. One of our most rewarding opportunities lies in partnering with customers to lead the way in sustainability. By enhancing features in tools like Revit and Fusion 360, we empower our customers to optimize energy usage, design more resilient products, and adapt to an uncertain future. ![](http://bsg-i.nbxc.com/blog/2f04cb434d4bcdcfe7862ba9cfce768c.jpg) Let’s celebrate some inspiring customer success stories featured in this year’s Sustainability Report: - **EC3:** Collaborating with our customers, we continue to push boundaries by supporting the development of the Embodied Carbon in Construction Calculator (EC3). This tool reveals hidden climate impacts tied to building material choices, propelling us toward a low-carbon economy. - **BLOX:** A family-run architecture firm based in Birmingham, Alabama, leveraged BIM 360 to double both efficiency and quality, expanding nationally as a top hospital builder. - **Dekker/Perich/Sabatini:** A New Mexico-based architectural firm saved a client $2.5 million over three decades by implementing net-zero building solutions using Autodesk Revit and Insight during the design phase. - **Honda:** Ditching traditional methods, Honda employed generative design and additive manufacturing to craft a 50% lighter crankshaft, boosting fuel efficiency and reducing CO2 emissions. - **Rebound Technologies:** Based in Denver, this innovative company developed groundbreaking tech to enhance cooling efficiency by 35%, potentially preventing 681 million metric tons of greenhouse gases annually by 2050. Their solution, built using Fusion 360, boosts frozen food production by 20%, lowers upfront costs, reduces maintenance needs, and cuts electricity consumption. While the road to a sustainable and inclusive economy won’t be without its hurdles, we remain steadfast in our commitment to accompany every customer on their unique journey. Together, let’s shape a future that prioritizes sustainability, resilience, and equity for generations to come.

    Screw Elements and Segmented Barrel

    1. Do not start the machine when the screw has not reached the preset temperature. 2. Prevent metal fragments and debris from falling into the hopper. If processing recycled materials, a magnetic hopper must be added to prevent iron filings from entering the hopper. 3. When using anti-salvation, make sure that the plastic in the barrel is completely melted, so as not to damage the transmission system parts when the screw retreats.
