Jeff Rudolph captured the aftermath of a semi-truck crash in Lake Bluff yesterday:
"I came across the semi-truck accident in Lake Bluff yesterday. It happened around noon on northbound Route 41, just north of I-176. Two fast-moving semis were approaching a slower one that was stuck behind a dump truck making a turn. The first truck moved into the inside lane and passed the slow-moving vehicle, but the second one didn’t see the slower truck in time and struck the left rear of the semi. At one point, the driver was pinned and required extensive rescue efforts. Emergency crews from Lake Bluff, Knollwood, and Lake Forest were dispatched. A unit from North Chicago arrived with an engine, Great Lakes sent a fire truck, and Libertyville’s crew also responded to the scene. The injured driver was taken to Lake Forest Hospital, while the other driver was not harmed."
