Green New Energy, Shaanxi Automobile's New Power! On May 16, the Shaanxi Natural Gas Heavy Truck Promotion Conference was held in Binxian County, a key coal base in western China. Representatives from Xi'an Yigao Accessibility Clean Energy Co., Ltd., along with leaders, distributors, service providers, and users from Binxian County, gathered to explore the future of clean transportation. The event was jointly hosted by Shaanxi Heavy Truck Special Vehicle Sales Company and Shaanxi Hongsheng Industrial Co., Ltd., with over 130 participants in attendance. During the "Eleventh Five-Year Plan" period, the Chinese government emphasized energy conservation and emission reduction, promoting the development of eco-friendly vehicles. Natural gas-powered heavy trucks, known for their low cost, energy efficiency, and environmental benefits, have become a major trend in the industry. Shaanxi Automobile’s successful development of CNG and LNG heavy trucks under the national “863 Project” has positioned them as pioneers in green new energy technology. At the conference, the DeLong F2000 natural gas truck, featuring three top Chinese brand names and four well-known trademarks, received widespread praise. As the first domestic heavy truck powered by clean and affordable compressed natural gas, it stands out for its high efficiency, fuel economy, power, environmental friendliness, safety, and reliability. Its advanced technology and energy-saving performance place it at the forefront of the industry. Currently, nearly 2,000 CNG and LNG heavy trucks are in operation, offering over 40% in cost savings, making them highly popular among users. To support energy conservation and reduce transportation costs, Shaanxi Auto Hongsheng and Yigao are actively promoting the use of natural gas trucks between Binxian Coalfield and cities like Xi’an and Xianyang. According to Ding Shaoping, deputy general manager of Hongsheng Company, Binxian Coalfield is the second-largest in Shaanxi, producing 20 million tons annually. Wanshengtong, a subsidiary of Hongshengshi, handles most of the coal transportation. After testing Shaanxi Gas’ heavy-duty trucks, they found that natural gas trucks significantly outperformed diesel ones in terms of economic benefits. By year-end, they plan to purchase 100 natural gas trucks for coal transport. Shaanxi Automobile’s green energy trucks now hold over 90% market share, filling several national gaps and leading in technological innovation. User Ma Chuncang shared his experience: transporting coal from Xiagougou mine to Linfen Xinfeng Town, a round trip of 440 km, saves 280 yuan per trip—diesel at 4.89 yuan per liter versus natural gas at 2.4 yuan per liter. With an average of 22 trips per month, annual savings reach 73,920 yuan. Additionally, the natural gas trucks perform well in harsh conditions, with strong climbing ability, smooth handling, and safe refueling. After more than a year of use, he reports no issues and feels confident in the reliability of these vehicles. Addressing user concerns about refueling, Elcometer General Manager Yi Zhen-li explained that the company has been proactive in supporting natural gas vehicle infrastructure. Since 2007, they have operated 30 Shaanxi Automobile Royal Depot trucks and built two well-functioning CNG stations capable of providing up to 500 km of driving range on one tank. They will also construct two more stations in Binxian and Shuangzhao, invest 9 million yuan in gas tankers, and ensure stable supply for 800–1000 trucks in the next two years. In today’s competitive heavy truck market, Shaanxi Natural Gas Trucks are winning favor due to their economic advantages and reliable after-sales service. With a focus on sustainability and efficiency, they are setting new standards for the industry.
