The basic research project of Knowledge Innovation of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, undertaken by the Institute of Microbiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, has progressed on the basis of the research on the collection and application of microbial resources for the degradation of sulfonylurea compounds. More than 100 strains of degrading bacteria were obtained.
Sulfonylurea herbicides are one of the most widely used agricultural herbicides. In order to control the reduction of soil quality caused by herbicide residues and eliminate the crop damage caused by them, the researchers of the Institute of Microbiology have worked for more than three years. A number of advances have been made in the screening of degradation strains, degradation mechanisms, and basic research of soil remediation technologies, and more than 100 strains of degrading bacteria have been obtained.
