Marlink upgrades very small aperture terminal (VSAT) connections for 25 passenger ferries

Recently, Norwegian ship industry satellite connection solution provider Marlink upgraded the VSAT connection for 25 passenger ferries of the Swedish Stena Line fleet.

The ferries operated by Stena Line mainly serve Denmark, Germany, Ireland, Latvia, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Sweden and the United Kingdom.

It is reported that as part of the upgrade, Marlink has installed more than twice the broadband closed subscriber group (CUG) service for the Stena Line fleet, integrating GSM 3/4G services for ferry navigation connections, and Wi-Fi on the Internet. -Fi network. After the upgrade, Stena Line provides passengers with faster Internet speeds and access to social media and other connectivity services. The ferry can also receive Wi-Fi coverage on 3G/4G network connection or on the port, and automatic switching.
