Today I witnessed a fire at 2324 S. California Avenue. The structure was a vacant, two-and-a-half-story wood-frame building. By the time I arrived, the firefighters had already gone defensive, which suggests the fire was well-established and difficult to control. Tower 5 was positioned in Sector 1, while Squad 1's snorkel unit was operating a master stream in Sector 2. From what I could see, the fire appeared to be in the attic or second floor. I didn’t spot any visible flames, but there was a significant amount of smoke coming from the roof area. These are a few photos I took during the incident.
