Shanghai's first supercritical power station boiler passed new product appraisal
The China Machinery Industry Federation and the China Electricity Council recently held a new product appraisal meeting at the Beijing Science Hall. A major milestone was achieved as the 600 MW supercritical boiler developed by the Shanghai Boiler Plant, based on the digestion and absorption of imported technologies, was recognized as reaching international advanced standards. Experts from across the industry unanimously approved the product's identification, marking a significant step forward in domestic boiler technology.
This 2×600 MW supercritical boiler system, installed at Jiangsu Zhenjiang Power Generation Co., Ltd., is the first large-scale unit produced by the Shanghai Boiler Plant using the introduced Alstom (USA) supercritical boiler technology, combined with specific user requirements. The design incorporates a simple hydrophobic expansion starting system, which significantly improves efficiency. The coal consumption for power generation is among the best in similar boilers, and nitrogen oxide emissions are below national standards. Experts praised the boiler for its advanced parameters, low emissions, and high combustion efficiency.
Over the past year, the boiler has demonstrated excellent operational performance, proving to be reliable, stable, and well-designed. All key operating parameters meet or exceed the design specifications, confirming its industrial maturity and technical reliability.
The successful appraisal of this supercritical boiler highlights that the Shanghai Boiler Plant has mastered the design and manufacturing techniques of such systems through both technology absorption and independent innovation. It now possesses the capability to independently develop and produce large-scale supercritical boilers. Having been in operation for over a year, the product has delivered impressive economic and environmental benefits. It has gained strong market acceptance and is expected to have wide application potential in the future.
