The 10,000-square-meter BorgWarner Ningbo Engineering Center will be equipped with state-of-the-art testing equipment for many BorgWarner engine products such as turbochargers, engine timing chains, EGR exhaust emissions, and Belu ignition coils. The establishment of the Ningbo Engineering Center will further enhance BorgWarner's indigenous R&D efforts, accelerate the localization of BorgWarner's engine products, and lay a solid foundation for better and faster service to Chinese customers. By 2017, it is expected that there will be 470 employees working for the Ningbo Engineering Center. Chinese engineers with overseas training experience will work with foreign colleagues to use the advanced equipment of the engineering center to speed up the application, testing and validation testing of BorgWarner engine products in China. It provides powerful guarantee for Chinese auto companies to adopt the world's latest engine technology.
The new 16,500-square-meter Moss plant will introduce the world-class production line of engine timing chains and variable phasers to China. Advanced precision high-speed presses, barrel polishing machines, VCT assembly lines, and test benches, etc., enable deep localization of steel belt stamping, heat treatment, polishing, and cleaning processes. Break through simple assembly and achieve a truly first-class production of engine timing chains and phasers. With high-quality engine mute chains, roller chains, bushing chains, and phaser products to meet China's rapidly growing demand for high-quality engines.
