What is the meaning of single-mode, dual-mode, and triple-mode wireless bridges?

    Single-mode, dual-mode, tri-mode, and multi-mode concepts are more common in optical fibers. As with optical fibers, wireless bridges used to transmit information also have these “modes”. In the classification of “modes”, there are three types of wireless bridges: single-mode, dual-mode, and triple-mode.
    So what are the single-mode, dual-mode, and triple-mode wireless bridges? Here, for ease of understanding, the description will begin with the definition of single, double, and multimode optical fibers.
    The so-called single-mode fiber has only one peak passing, which means that only one mode of fiber can be transmitted. Since the core of this type of optical fiber is very fine, about 8-10 microns, it forms a very small modal dispersion, so that the single-mode optical fiber can be transmitted over long distances over a wide frequency band.
    Therefore, the characteristic of single-mode fiber is that it can only transmit one mode signal and has a long transmission distance.
    A multimode fiber is an optical fiber with two or more transmission modes. Its fiber core is roughly 50-100 micrometers thick. Compared to a single-mode fiber, it will form a large modal dispersion, resulting in a shorter transmission distance. The loss increases, so it can only be used for short-distance, low-bandwidth signal transmission.
    Therefore, multimode fiber is characterized by supporting multiple modes of signal transmission, but the transmission distance is short.
    The single-mode, dual-mode, and tri-mode transmission modes that are converted into wireless bridges are wireless bridges that support one, two, and three signal transmission modes.
    The difference between a wireless bridge and an optical fiber is that the former uses air as a transmission medium, and the latter uses an optical fiber as a transmission medium. When a wireless bridge performs long-distance wireless transmission, it needs a single-mode wireless bridge and needs to transmit simultaneously. When using two or three signal modes, you need to use dual-mode or three wireless bridges.
    Therefore, the single-mode wireless bridge is characterized by supporting a mode of signal transmission with a long transmission distance.
    The characteristics of dual-mode and tri-mode wireless bridges are that they support two or three modes of signal transmission, and the transmission distance is short. For example, a transit relay point can receive and transmit signals simultaneously using dual-mode and three-mode.
