OOCL's tenth SX-class container ship capable of carrying 8,063 containers, Oriental Europe was named on July 20 at the Geoje Shipyard in Geoje Island, South Korea. The new ship was built by Samsung Heavy Industries and officially received by OOCL on July 26. The Eastern Europe will be deployed on the EU4 route of the Grand Alliance to serve the routes from Asia to Europe.

The order of the Asian-European westbound line of the Eastern Europe and the eastbound line of Europe to Asia is: Rotterdam/Hamburg/Southampton/Singapore/Kaohsiung/Busan/Dalian/Tianjin/Qingdao/Busan/Shanghai/Ningbo/Singapore / Port Klang/Jeddah, then returned to Rotterdam with a shipping cycle of 63 days.
