The "Chongqi Brand" Engine Plant II is set up

It was revealed yesterday that Jinan Power Co., Ltd., a newly established subsidiary of China National Heavy Duty Truck Group (CNHTC), officially launched its operations today. This marks the official start of the "Trucks" heavy-duty engine production line. According to insiders, Jinan Power was previously an undisclosed engine manufacturing base under CNHTC's Zhangqiu facility, now officially recognized as a key production hub. Chairman Ma Chunji of CNHTC emphasized that Jinan Power is a dedicated engine production base, backed by nearly 1 billion yuan in investment. The facility spans 245 acres, with a joint workshop covering 50,000 square meters and an annual production capacity of 100,000 engines. Currently, it produces two engine series—Seymour and HOWO—with power outputs ranging from 266 to 410 horsepower, featuring five-speed transmissions and meeting Euro II emission standards. With this new addition, CNHTC now operates two major engine production bases: one in Hangzhou and another in Zhangqiu, both producing the "Shouqipai" engine. In March, the Hangzhou Engine Factory produced over 5,102 units, surpassing the 5,000-unit monthly target. Meanwhile, Jinan Power reached a trial production output of 2,000 units within the first two months. According to CNHTC's strategic plan for this year, the Hangzhou plant will serve as the main engine producer, with Zhangqiu acting as a supporting facility, ensuring the company meets its annual targets. However, industry insiders suggest that establishing Jinan Power was not straightforward. Previously, CNHTC relied on its subsidiary Weichai Engine Factory, which supplied around 50,000 engines annually. But after their separation in March, Weichai ceased all engine sales to CNHTC. This move allowed CNHTC to shift production internally, leveraging the already operational Zhangqiu base. Another source disclosed that negotiations between Volvo and CNHTC regarding engine projects were stalled, partly due to the secret development of the Zhangqiu Engine Factory. When Volvo executives learned about CNHTC’s independent engine production, they questioned the sincerity of the partnership. This development highlights the growing competition and strategic moves within the heavy truck industry. As CNHTC strengthens its internal capabilities, it signals a broader trend of vertical integration and self-reliance in the Chinese heavy vehicle market. With more production under its control, the group is well-positioned to meet rising demand and maintain its leadership in the national truck sector.

HYUNDAI KIA VVT SOLENOID

Variable valve timing (VVT) solenoid or oil control valve controls the oil flow according to the engine speed and load. VVT solenoid is a vital part of the variable valve timing system.
The Oil Control Valve (OCV) is a a critical part used in every engine that is fitted with variable valve technology (VVT). A single control valve will regulate the supply of oil to a designated VVT hub, to advance or retard the timing by altering the camshaft angle position. Controlled by the ECU, the OCV receives electrical signals, instructing it to adjust the oil flow as required, in accordance to current driving conditions.
