China is expected to become the third-largest automotive producer in the world this year, making it an attractive destination for global auto parts and supply chain companies. According to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, the country’s growing automotive output has positioned it as a key market for international suppliers seeking new opportunities.
The "2005 Shanghai International Auto Parts and Auto Accessories Exhibition," set to open on December 6, will serve as a crucial platform for global suppliers to connect with Chinese buyers. Organized by Adsale Exhibition Services Co., Ltd., the event will feature over 200 exhibitors from both China and abroad, including industry leaders such as Bosch, GE, DuPont, and Goodyear. Participants from France, South Korea, Singapore, Japan, Hong Kong, and Taiwan will also be present, highlighting the global interest in China's expanding auto sector.
In response to the rising demand, many international suppliers are showcasing their latest innovations. For example, Car GNS Pioneer Singapore GMS will unveil advanced car navigation systems, including hard drive technology for OEMs and portable units for the after-market, along with next-generation intelligent information systems. General Plastics from the U.S. will focus on cutting-edge materials used in powertrains and hoods, while Textron, the world's largest supplier of automotive fasteners, will introduce its globally tested fastening solutions to Chinese automakers.
Adsale Exhibition Co., Ltd. has expressed confidence that the exhibition will draw significant attention from industry professionals. Zhang Xiaoyi, honorary chairman of the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, recently stated that China’s auto production in 2005 is projected to exceed 5.6 million units, surpassing Russia to claim the third position globally. He also noted that the Chinese auto industry will continue to grow at a pace slightly above the country’s GDP growth rate.
Looking ahead, Zhang Xiaoxuan outlined four key areas for the development of China’s auto industry, one of which is building a strong domestic auto parts base.
