On September 9, Toyo Tires Zhangjiagang Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Japan's Toyo Rubber Industry Co., Ltd., a global automotive auto parts manufacturer that invested in China, held a groundbreaking ceremony for a new plant in the Yangzijiang International Chemical Industry Park in Zhangjiagang City. The new plant is Toyo Tire’s first factory in Asia. It plans to produce 2 million tires a year, and it is expected to start production at the end of 2011.
As the tire production plant of Toyo Rubber Industry Co., Ltd., the new factory of Toyo Tire Zhangjiagang Co., Ltd. is the second overseas production base following the “ToyoTireNorthAMErica Manufacturing Inc.†in the United States. The new plant is one of the most important production bases of the Toyo Rubber Group, and the first advanced production technology tire factory in Toyo Rubber Industry Co., Ltd. in Asia outside of Japan.
With the rapid popularization of domestic automobiles, the investment of auto parts manufacturers in the Chinese market is also increasing. With the strong growth momentum exhibited by the Chinese tire market, Dongyang tire manufacturers will further increase their supply to the Chinese tire market.
