Recently, the new office building of the ZF Electric Drive Technology Division headquarters in Schweinfurt was completed, which included administrative, R&D and sales departments. A new electric drive plant will be put into operation in Pancevo, near Serbia's Belgrade.
Michael Hankel, head of ZF's board of directors and head of group electric drive technology and production management, said: The growing demand for electric drive system solutions has prompted us to increase our investment in the electric drive division. Creating more job opportunities to increase production capacity and building new electric drive factories will lay the foundation for ZF to build a next-generation travel plan to reduce global vehicle emissions.
With more than 9,400 employees at its location in Schweinfurt, ZF is one of ZF's largest locations in the world. ZF is also the largest employer in the Lower Franconia region of Germany. As early as August 15 last year, ZF (China) Investment Co., Ltd., ZF Transmission Technology (Hangzhou) Co., Ltd. and Xiaoshan Economic Development Zone Management Committee signed a strategic cooperation agreement for ZF Hangzhou Electric Drive Project. The total investment of the project is about 150 million US dollars. The project will introduce the automatic assembly line of the differential, build a new factory, and introduce electric drive production line to produce and sell electric drive products. It is estimated that the annual production capacity of the project will reach 400,000 units.
