    Narrowband Internet of Things (NB-IoT) technology is widely used in agriculture, industry, government, and life. What is the architecture of narrowband Internet of Things (NB-IoT) technology?

    First, NB-IoT technology architecture diagram

    A typical narrowband IoT architecture is three layers, namely the sensing layer, the network layer, and the application layer.

    Perceptual layer: It consists of various sensors, including temperature and humidity sensors, QR code tags, RFID tags and readers, cameras, infrared, GPS and other sensing terminals. The perception layer is the source of the Internet of Things to identify objects and collect information. If NB-IoT is likened to human beings, the sensory layer is the sensory organs such as eyes, nose, ears, and skin.

    Network layer: It consists of various networks, including the Internet, the broadcasting network, the network management system, and the cloud computing platform. It is the backbone of the entire Internet of Things, responsible for transmitting and processing the information acquired by the sensing layer. The narrow-band IoT network layer is equivalent to the human nervous system and transmits various signals.

    Application layer: It is the interface between the Internet of Things and the user. It combines with the needs of the industry to realize the intelligent application of the Internet of Things. The application layer of the Internet of Things is equivalent to the human brain and is responsible for analyzing and processing various data.

    Second, what are the advantages of NB-IoT

    1. Low power consumption: It can be seen from the above figure that the NB-IoT module can work in three states to save power. The maximum current consumption is 5uA in PSM mode and approximately 6mA in IDLE mode. According to the simulation data of TR45.820, the 5Wh battery sends 200 bytes of data per day, which is expected to be 12.8 years. It can be used to develop equipment placed in remote areas of the high mountains and wilderness.

    2. Strong link: In the case of the same base station, NB-IoT can provide 50-100 times more access than existing wireless technologies. This means that we can place more devices in a less large space without disturbing each other.

    3, wide coverage: will provide improved indoor coverage, in the same frequency band, NB-IoT gain 20dB than the existing network, equivalent to the ability to increase the coverage area by 100 times. For underground garages and manhole covers where data acquisition devices are required, NB-IoT is more suitable for use with 3G/4G wireless modules or 433MHz wireless devices.

    4, low cost: whether it is module cost, or power supply, communication operating costs are cheaper than other wireless devices. With the development of NB-IoT, the expected price of a single connected module does not exceed $5, or even as low as $2. Recently, Telecom released the first NB-IoT annual package, which only costs 20 yuan.

    Third, NB-IoT technology application scenario

    It is widely used in real-time monitoring and early warning of environmental data such as oil fields, oil wells, gas fields, steam pipes, heating pipes, pump houses, refrigeration, storage, agricultural greenhouses and aquaculture.

    Widely used in computer room, station power, environmental monitoring system, low-voltage power distribution monitoring system, energy data monitoring system, factory machinery and equipment, production line operation status monitoring system, production information collection system and other wireless monitoring and early warning.
