Recently, Qiqi 2 successfully completed the first phase of the marine special project, the water glider, which verified the good navigation performance, operation function and environmental adaptability of the self-developed water glider.
The sea trial completed two trials of the commissioning test and the 100-meter gliding test. The gliding test included a single-cycle gliding test and a multi-cycle continuous gliding test. The maximum dive depth was 82 meters, the maximum gliding speed exceeded 1 knot, and the continuous operation range was up to 3 km.
The testers overcame the seasickness brought by the sea wind and waves, and carried out work under the scorching sun to ensure the smooth progress of the sea test. The success of the sea trial has accumulated valuable experience for the subsequent sea testing and application of the water glider, providing a good basis for the water glider to be delivered to users and to industrial development.
