In recent years, SAIC-GM-Wuling has established its position as a micro vehicle leader with the light of Wuling and Wuling Rongguang, and has laid a solid foundation for the development of passenger vehicles. Three years ago, the release of the Baojun brand enabled SAIC-GM-Wuling to achieve "commercial development and simultaneous development," and the rapid rise of Wuling Hongguang has allowed it to further expand its product distribution to achieve an accelerated development path. At present, the SAIC-GM-Wuling Baojun brand has formed a five-seat family car consisting mainly of Baojun 630, Le Chi and 610, as well as a lineup of seven family car models jointly developed by Hongguang and Baojun 730 “brothersâ€.
According to the latest data, the total sales volume of SAIC-GM-Wuling in the first quarter of this year amounted to 483,000 vehicles, an increase of 15% from the same period last year. Among them, a total of 230,000 new cars were sold by passenger vehicles, which represented an increase of 53% over the same period of last year and accounted for almost half of the total. Wuling Hongguang has sold more than 210,000 units this year, an increase of 62% year-on-year, and has won the championship for a single vehicle sales model for eight consecutive months. According to reports, with the launch of two new vehicles, the Baojun brand will challenge the sales target of 200,000 vehicles this year based on sales of 100,000 vehicles last year.
