Prospect Heights FPD open house

The Prospect Heights Fire Department (FPD) held their open house on Saturday, and Drew Smith shared the following account: At the start of the event, there were two special ceremonies. The first was the dedication of a memorial in honor of Thomas O’Donoghue, a former president of the Board of Trustees. It was a heartfelt moment, with many community members gathering to pay their respects. The second ceremony marked the promotion of John Douglas (Doug) Tragesser to the rank of Lieutenant. This was a proud moment for Doug and his family, as well as for the entire department. Throughout the day, the firehouse was filled with visitors, families, and local residents who came to learn more about the FPD’s work and meet the firefighters. There were demonstrations, tours, and plenty of opportunities for people to ask questions and engage with the team.
