From Scott Peterson:
I came across this fire truck while driving through Hebron, Illinois. It was purchased from a firefighter in Skokie by Doug Reno. The vehicle will be on display at the Illinois Railway Museum this weekend and the following two weekends. It's going to be used to fill the steam engine *The Leviathan*. The piping on the driver's side was specially fabricated for a quick-fill method when the rig is in Union to refill the steam engine. The rig is in excellent condition and is equipped with a WLF, bearing the number 80-1129.
Here are some photos of the 1975 Ward LaFrance Ambassador engine from Wadsworth, Ohio. These images show the truck in various angles and conditions, giving a good sense of its appearance and overall state. If you're ever in the area, it's definitely worth checking out the museum to see this piece of history up close.
