Clean Marine has signed a contract with Huanghai Shipbuilding to provide an exhaust gas purification system (EGCS) for two refrigeration/fishery support vessels under construction.
It is understood that the contract also includes an alternative contract for the provision of additional exhaust gas purification systems for two identical refrigeration/fishery support vessels. These chilled/fishing support vessels are owned by Malta EF Transport Ltd. As the company's fishing vessels are primarily engaged in the Northeast Atlantic transportation mission, the current International Maritime Organization's Emission Control Zone (ECA) requirements will be enforced.
The installation of Clean Marine's exhaust gas purification system will help refrigerated vessels meet existing and future emission regulations without the use of expensive fuel.
The Clean Marine exhaust gas purification system supplied to Huanghai Shipbuilding is a Multistream scrubber that cleans 30,000 kg of exhaust gas per hour. The scrubber will remove sulfur oxides (SOx) and particulate matter from one main unit and two auxiliary units.
