From September 11th to December 12th, the 2010 China Mining Circular Economy Forum was held in Datong, Shanxi Province, with the theme of “resources comprehensive utilization and green mine constructionâ€. Li Yuan, deputy director of the China Mining Association, deputy director of the Population Resources and Environment Committee of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, Liu Zemin, deputy director of the Population and Environment Committee of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, and Zhang Hongtao, chief engineer of the Ministry of Land and Resources attended the meeting.
Li Yuan pointed out that the construction of green mines requires the coordination and cooperation of governments at all levels, industry associations, and mining companies to work together. The first is to insist on government guidance and support. The second is to give play to the support role of the association and give full play to the association, communication, and bridge ties of the trade associations. Under the guidance of governments and land and resources management departments at all levels, the industry self-discipline was strengthened and the organization and various business support work in the construction of green mines was effectively carried out. The third is to play a dominant role and role in mining enterprises. Mining enterprises must proceed from actual conditions, do a good job in the development plan of green mines, and actively and steadily progress; they must strengthen organization and standardization management, take the use of resources, protect the environment, and the harmony of the community as the core of green mine construction, with scientific and technological innovations and mechanism innovations. As a basic guarantee, comprehensively promote all tasks.
Zhang Hongtao pointed out that in order to build green mines, it is necessary to cherish mineral resources intensively and efficiently use resources; secondly, to effectively protect the mining environment; and third, to care about the interests of the community.
During the conference, the China Mining Association held a signing ceremony for research and application of pilot projects for the reform of mining land using Shenhua Shenyan Coal Company and the China Land and Minerals Law Center. At the forum, companies such as Tongji Group, Shenhua Group, Chinalco Corporation, and Shougang Mining Company introduced practices and experiences in developing green mines and promoting green mining.
