At the conference, the 13th Lab team used Rescape to demonstrate a shooting game. The team will place an iPhone on a support device and use the iPhone's internal accelerometers, gyroscopes, and cameras to scan the site environment to create a virtual world. Players can shoot the virtual world through the screen of the mobile phone. 13th Lab said that the device is currently priced at at least $149 on the Kickstarter website.
Petter Ivmark, co-founder of 13th Lab, told GigaOM: “Other people bring players into virtual, and we bring virtual reality to reality.â€
In addition, 13th Lab will follow-up Android version of Rescape software. However, players are unlikely to play this shooting game for the time being, because Rescape is a technology platform, not a game platform, and it does not face ordinary consumers.
