Recently, Tianjin FAW Toyota Motor Co., Ltd. and GAC Toyota Motor Co., Ltd. filed a recall plan with the AQSIQ according to the requirements of the Regulations on the Management of Defective Automobile Product Recall, and decided to recall the following vehicles from September 25, 2015. A total of 189,136 vehicles:
Tianjin FAW Toyota Motor Co., Ltd. produced 166,369 units of Vios, Corolla and Corolla EX cars from April 1, 2007 to December 31, 2008;
Guangzhou Automobile Toyota Motor Co., Ltd. produced a total of 22,767 Yaris vehicles from May 15, 2008 to December 31, 2008.
Due to the supplier's reasons, some of the vehicles in the scope of this recall may be damaged when the airbag of the passenger's seat is deployed, causing the debris to fly out, which may damage the personnel inside the vehicle and pose a safety hazard. Tianjin FAW Toyota Motor Co., Ltd. and GAC Toyota Motor Co., Ltd. will replace the airbag components involved in the recall for free to eliminate safety hazards.
