The reporter learned from the Sichuan Automobile Industry Development Investment Conference held here that 48 contracted projects cover vehicle manufacturing, parts manufacturing, automobile trade and sales service industries, including the FAW-Volkswagen Chengdu base vehicle four-phase expansion project, Chongqing. This is the largest investment event in Sichuan Province in recent years, attracting more than 300 well-known enterprises and business associations. During the two-day negotiation, inspection and docking activities, the new energy vehicle related projects are hot: China High-tech Industry Investment Management Co., Ltd. invested in the construction of the western new energy vehicle base in the “National Science and Technology City†Mianyang; China Aviation Technology Guangzhou Co., Ltd. in Guang'an Investing in new energy electric vehicle projects; Li Shufu, chairman of Geely Group, also revealed that Volvo will produce new energy vehicles at the Chengdu base, and will speed up the introduction of new technologies, develop new models, and continue to promote the development of new energy vehicles in Sichuan.
Wei Hong, the governor of Sichuan Province, said that in the near future, Sichuan has identified new energy vehicles as one of the top five high-end growth industries, with the goal of becoming a new energy vehicle manufacturing and application base in China.
