Jiangsu Haihong Construction Engineering Co., Ltd. has ordered four MAN 32/40 engines for its two 8,000-cubic-meter suction dredgers. Jiangsu Haixin Shipping Heavy Industry will be responsible for the construction of the two suction dredgers, and the delivery period will be scheduled for the end of 2016. Mann Diesel & Turbo will produce these engines at its Augus engine plant in Germany. 
It is reported that Mann will provide one of the two ships with two 9L32/40 engines, one MAN Alpha twin-screw VBS860 variable pitch propeller, and one Renk RSVL-800 reduction gearbox. A selective catalytic reduction system that assists the engine in meeting the Tier III requirements in a low liquid fuel mode.
The 32/40 engine covers power from 3,000 to 9,000 kW. The engine has a low wear rate and long maintenance intervals. It can drive a propeller with 100% engine rated power output and drive one generator with 110% engine rated power.
