Luo Luo provides design and equipment support for cutting-edge fishing vessels

Rolls-Royce has recently signed contracts with two Norwegian companies, Eros AS and Kings Bay AS, to design an ocean-going fishing vessel and provide equipment for each of them. Rolls-Royce Marine Technology's Fisheries Division in Alesund, Norway, works with two shipowners to develop a shipbuilder's requirements based on its existing and highly successful NVC-354 design. New design.
The two 78-meter-long advanced fishing vessels will be delivered in June and December 2012, respectively, using ring nets and ocean-going trawls to capture fish. The Norwegian Larsnes Mek.Verksted dock will be responsible for the construction of the hull. NVC-354 takes the design of offshore fishing vessels to new heights in terms of crew working environment, sea surface conditions and operational efficiency.
The two fishing vessels will use the Rolls-Royce hybrid propulsion system, which uses diesel-electric or diesel mechanical propulsion in different situations to help reduce energy consumption throughout the operation.
Monrad Hide, general manager of the fishing design department at Rolls-Royce in Alesund, said: "We are pleased to work with two companies with extensive experience in ring fishing to develop new vessels for them. Not only are they fortunate to provide design services, but they also equip the two fishing boats with integrated equipment and systems to power them."
