IHIMU marine diesel engine will be fully electronically controlled in the future

    Japan's Ishikawa Island Harima Joint Shipbuilding Company (IHIMU) plans to fully control its marine diesel engines before the 2008 fiscal year. The company's diesel engine joint company uses Wärtsilä Diesel's electronic control technology to produce marine diesel engines. In fiscal 2005, six of the 26 marine diesel engines produced by the company used electronic control technology. By the end of fiscal 2008, the company's 25 to 30 marine diesel engines will all adopt electronic control technology.
