Customs statistics show that from January to May in Jiangsu Province, 4,005,300 cubic meters of logs were imported, a 23.2% increase over the same period of last year; the import value was US$987 million, a year-on-year increase of 19.7%.
In May, raw wood in Jiangsu Province was 1,080,300 cubic meters, an increase of 30.1% year-on-year; import value was US$222 million, a year-on-year increase of 22.1%. Imported white pine (cedar and fir) logs amounted to 113,500 cubic meters, an increase of 48.3% year-on-year; imports amounted to 21,116,000 US dollars, an increase of 122.8% year-on-year.
Imports of radiata pine wood 127,000 cubic meters, an increase of 46.6%; import volume of 1982.06 million US dollars, an increase of 62.6%. Imported larch logs amounted to 49,600 cubic meters, a decrease of 47.9% year-on-year, and imports amounted to 8,843.6 thousand US dollars, a decrease of 21.5% year-on-year.
