On the morning of the 17th, the CBM Energy Shinkansen project jointly initiated by three companies inside and outside the province was launched in Nancun Town, Zezhou County, Jincheng City. This indicates that a coal-bed methane transportation and logistics network centered on Shanxi and covering the entire North China region will soon become a reality.
The project will use coal-bed gas to replace the diesel energy of commercial vehicles such as heavy-duty trucks, and give full play to the advantages of high-efficiency, energy-saving, environmental-friendly and low-pollution coal-bed gas trucks. The goal is to build a coal-bed methane vehicle transportation network based on Taiyuan as the center and linking Yinchuan, Taiyuan, Shijiazhuang, Beijing, Hohhot, Xi’an, Zhengzhou and other seven provinces and cities. After the project is launched, it will first invest 100 coal bed methane heavy trucks, and start Xiaoyi – Lishe and Xiaoyi – Hejin two transport lines. According to the implementation plan, this year, the project will also add 1,000 CMM heavy-duty trucks and refit 2000 diesel heavy trucks. This alone will save 200,000 tons of diesel fuel each year and consume 300 million cubic meters of CBM. In 2010, there were tens of thousands of heavy trucks using CBM in the province.
