On May 19th, Foton Auto "Fuji Tianri" Zhucheng Station and Auto Industry Products Fair with the theme of "Seeing Strength and Building the Future" was launched in Zhucheng. As the most complete and longest-lasting commercial vehicle show in China, this exhibition featured a total of nearly 100 units of Foton Motor’s 11 brands and its new self-developed high-capacity new energy battery packs. The representative local 83 auto parts companies and more than 1,500 kinds of products also participated in the exhibition.
At the event, Foton Motor also released the "6060" plan for its Zhucheng plant area. According to the plan, Foton Motor Group plans to invest 8 billion yuan to build a high-end truck project in Zhucheng. After the project is completed, Foton will expand its 600,000 capacity based on the existing truck business in Zhucheng. Here, what attracts attention is the upgrading significance of 600,000 vehicles. Foton wants to build its Shandong Zhucheng plant area into a high-end truck industry base that faces the world and produces more than 1.1 million vehicles a year.
According to Foton Motor Group's future-oriented "Futian Automobile 2020" plan, Foton Motors' high-end truck sales will increase from 300,000 units in 2014 to 880,000 units in 2020, which is in line with the 600,000 mid- to high-end light trucks to be built in Zhucheng. Production projects are inseparable. According to the plan, the mid- to high-end light-card expansion project is expected to be completed and put into operation in early 2016, which will drive a new production value of 120 billion yuan, profits and taxes of 6 billion yuan, and 15,000 jobs. By then, Foton Motor Group will establish a world-leading mid-to-high-end truck manufacturing base in Zhucheng, and the Zhucheng automobile industry will also become Shandong's first 100 billion auto industry cluster.
